Biotechnology is the use of chemistry to manipulate cells or molecules to find new and cleaner ways to produce traditional products or or reduce the impacts on the environment and economy related to the overuse of natural resources.
Environmental Biotechnology focuses on the environmental applications of biotechnology, rather than the industrial applications. This means that, for example, instead of enhancing a bacteria to aid with medicine, environmental biotechnology might enhance a bacteria to better an aspect of agriculture.
